Welcome to Wolverine Wood Art. Here you will find interesting and unique root carved baskets, bowls, and plates. In addition to our root carved pieces, you'll want to see our gorgeous vases, unusual decor boxes and treasure boxes. Make sure to check out the handmade items from our local Michigan Artisans. In "odds & ends" you might find an occasional piece that just refuses to fit in anywhere else, and some pieces that decided to play Humpty Dumpty on us, can be found in our Sale Items area. Of course, they have been put back together!

New for 2009 is our collection of decor prints. These prints are professionally printed on archival paper, with 100% rag mats, and handmade, solid wood frames. Many of the prints were selected from my personal portfolio developed over the last 30 years.
Our root wood carvings are never out of style, the wrong color, or the wrong size. The warmth and beauty of each individual piece assures it will find a place of honor in the home of all who receive one.
In all our carvings we work to bring out the natural uniqueness of each piece. While the outside retains its natural look, the inside is sanded smooth to highlight the grain and color. A final clear sealer is applied requiring only an occasional application of wax to keep your Wood Art brilliant and beautiful.

The handles of our baskets are an integral part of the root, and the bottom is the original logging cut of the tree. Some pieces are carved laterally or in the direction of the grain if this is determined to yield the most interesting finished piece. Each piece is unique and different, and many of our customers have collected several pieces.
